The Lord of the Rings The Hunt For Gollum - LOTR Prequel

Award winning unofficial prequel to The Lord Of The Rings dramatising Aragorn & Gandalf’s long search for Gollum directed by British filmmaker Chris Bouchard. Based faithfully on the appendices of the books this is a non-profit, serious homage to the writing of J.R.R Tolkien and the films of Peter Jackson.

It was shot on locations in England and Snowdonia with a team of over a hundred people working over the Internet. It took two years to make and was released as a non-profit Internet-only video by agreement with Tolkien Enterprizes.

  1. Yes i get what you mean Oscar….. its true it lacks a bit a “soul” or “spirit”…well you see that often happen…. its nice that they tried to recreate to mood and stuff of Peter jacksons lord of the ring movies…..but basicly they should have looked at earlier work from him…bad taste of Jackson is basicly also an amteur movie….but it does have this “intrinsic value” which shows already the artist in jackson……a well I think this gollum movie is a nice effort of those guys which is clever made

  2. well I guess the people that made this little movie spent a lot of effort but I can’t hide from my point of view the result has the same taste of a parody. I mean it lacks its own spirit and imo the movie makers should have worried about getting it instead of worrying so much about trying to recreate the same costumes/sounds/settings of Peter Jackson trilogy. It tastes a bit kitsch to me :\
